BMLGA GOLF TOURNAMENT- JUNE 22

We had a really fun tournament today. It was called Red, White, and Blue. We played Par 4's from the Red Tees, Par 5's from the White tees, and Par 3's from the Blue Tees. Some of the fairways were very exciting, but my foursome did not have much higher scores playing from these tees, than the usual ones. (so guys, quit your beefing) Our Member/Guest Tournament will be held next Tuesday. Our play schedule does not end til Oct 12, so if you are a BMC member, and have a handicap Index of 37.1 and below, give our president, Becky Welsh a call at 387-2376. It's a wonderful way to meet other ladies and have fun.

GARDEN & HERB SOCIETY MEETING-JUNE 21

We had a nice gathering of members at the Pavillion. The refreshments were delicious, and then we made beautiful garden markers. Next month our meeting will be held on Monday, July 19th. Check the News and Notes for location. One of our projects is to work on the Butterfly Memorial Garden, which is located just before the BMC tennis courts. Rory and his staff have been working hard with gravel paths lined with rocks, and there is a beautiful Memorial Chair in honor of Tuck Calhoun. One day soon, this garden will be filled with many blooming plants.

HIKE THE FALLS TRAIL ON BEECH MOUNTAIN

Marge Pooser, Kim Barley, and Cocoa Barley (a chocolate Lab, who loves hiking) hiked the Falls Trail with me this morning. Check it out on the Web, complete with a map. Just type in Beech Mtn Hiking, and you will receive excellent information on all hikes available, on Beech. The views were beautiful. Take a look.

BMLGA PLAYS 6-6-6- ON JUNE 15TH.

This is a really fun game. Teams of four golfers work together to get the lowest score possible. On the first 6 holes, you need to use 3 Best Ball Scores. The next 6 holes, 2 Best Ball Scores, and on the last 6 holes, only 1 best ball score. If you are a BMC member and have a handicap of 37.1 or below, please call Becky Welsh @ 387-2376. Dues are $50.00, which includesUSGA handicap charge, administration expenses, and BMLGA Championship prizes. Dues will be member charged.

JOHN & JASON HAVE RULES CLINIC ON COURSE

This was a wonderful oportunity to review some golf rules. John Carrin, PGA Professional, and his asst, Jason Powell, worked with us on #16 & #18. Even though there were a few sprinkles, everyone stayed, because it was so interesting. Thank you John and Jason!
