BMC Third Annual Craft Show

It will be held on Saturday, June 28th from 9-3 at the Recreation Activity Room. I took these pictures of the beautiful items on Friday. We have many talented members. There are paintings, jewelery, photographs, items to wear, etc. Don't miss this show.

This is our new 9 week old Labrador Retriever, Cocoa. She is 9 weeks old and ready to explore!

LOW IMPACT HIKERS ON ROAN MTN.

This is my favorite hike. There are beautiful views. The Roan Mtn Rhododendron Festival will be held on June 21-22. The final pictures are of them blooming in the gardens. There were some Flame Azaleas blooming on the trail, and even a Grey's Lilley, which is supposed to be very rare.

The hike next week is planned for families, and would be a fun thing to do for your 4th of July guests. Call Recreation at 387-4208 for more information, and to make a reservation.

BMLGA PLAYS ABCD SCRAMBLE

This was a great format to meet other players. 3 Drives were required per player, and Pro John Carrin congratulated us on a less than four hour round, per team. As I take the pictures, I realize how nice our group is, and how much fun they have talking with the other players, before golf. However, after John calls us together for play, we are all business.

We will not play during the 4th of July week, and on July 8th and 15th, we are playing our Member-Member Ringer Tournament,with lunch after the 2nd day, Interclub will be held at Linville Ridge on July 21st, and the Member-Guest Tournament will be held on July 29. There is lots of golf to play, when you are a member of the BMLGA. If you would like more information, please call our President, Joan Wichman at 387-3656.

THE GARDEN AND HERB SOCIETY AT WATER HEAVEN PONDS

]You must stop at Water Heaven Ponds sometime soon. It's on the left side of 184, just before Food Lion. Margo, the owner, not only has beautiful water gardens and fish and plants for water gardens, but you will find plants for your regular garden, as well as healthy looking herbs. She moved here from Charlotte, so her son could get a better education in the schools, and Charlotte's loss is definately our gain. She can install very small to very large water gardens or help you do it properly, yourself. One interesting fact, the fish and plants can live all winter long, under the ice. Do stop by, on the way to the grocery, and it's a great place to take guests.

The next Garden and Herb Society Meeting will be on Monday, July 7th at 10:00 A.M at the Pavillian. Each member is to bring two of her favorite plants, and give information about both. A small lunch will be provided. This group is composed of golfers, tennis players, bridge players, you name it. It's a good chance to meet others, that you usually would not see.
