BMLGA MEMBER GUEST
It was an outstanding Member-Guest on a beautiful sunny day. The theme was Scottish and a bagpiper greeted us with his special music as we arrived. Pat Campbell, Chr, and her committee of Betty Modell, Phillis Englander, Judy Helsabeck, and Carol Smith did a wonderful job. Suzzie O'Connell, Charlene Josselyn, Kathy Buschman, and Donna Halvosa, also helped and even Carol Beckmann ordered our favors of pashmina stoles from Italy. The luncheon at the Clubhouse was especially delicious. John and Rory are also to be commended for their excellent job.

WHY BEECH MTN IS SO SPECIAL!
My husband, Jim, and I were playing golf yesterday, when suddenly on the 14th hole, he discovered he was missing his wallet. I called Dan, in the Pro Shop, to see if anyone had turned it in, and the answer was no. I played 15 and Jim determined that he had to find his wallet, so we drove up to #10 blue tee, where he had sat on the stone wall, while we had waited for one our our foursome to tee off. It was not there. We stopped at the Pro Shop, and Jim Abbott had borrowed someone's cell phone and called the Pro Shop to let us know it had been found and to come back to the 16th green. When we arrived, it was laying beside the hole on the green!
The story is that Judy Helsabeck found it near the 13th green. She gave it to Kathy Buschman, who was getting ready to play #15, and Kathy called over to Jim Abbott playing #16 and ran over and put it on the green!
We certainly appreciate everyone's help! Thank you all so much. We finished playing #17 and #18 and Jim decided I should get a 5 on #15. And we didn't have to call any credit card companies, get new ID's, etc. I think there are very few other places, when you could have such a happy ending. Thank you Judy, Kathy, Jim, and anyone else who was involved.

NATURE VENTURE ON WOODLAND MEADOW
I took a beautiful short trip with the Nature Venture, led by Marge Bailey, this morning. Seventeen years ago, I first joined the group, which was called the Wildflower Walk and led by Marge. I made my first Beech Mountain friends with this group. This morning we had a nice gathering looking at the beautiful wildflowers on Woodland Meadows. Marge is very knowledgeable, and we also fortunate to have Alice Russell with us. Please call Recreation for more information on other trips @ 387-4208
