Butterfly Garden Belles

September 14, 2010

The butterfly garden is taking shape more and more as time goes by. It is such a treat to be able to stop and walk through to see what this dedicated group is doing to transform a plain lot into a lovely walking area.

If you are getting ready to leave the mountain and have plants you can donate for this beautiful garden, call one of the members of the BMC Garden and Herb Society to see if they can transplant them in the garden. Wouldn't it be nice to stop by next season and see your plant living in such a nice place!

Thanks so much to the dedicated gardeners who have made this garden a showcase for all of us to enjoy.

It's just starting now but it will be so nice to see it grow from year to year.

Beautiful garden, thanks to beautiful gals like these who are working so hard at this project.

3 Chicks and a Rooster BMLN 9/23/2010

We have lots to crow about today, a great event thanks to Marilyn and Judy (they were such good eggs to organize it). Our red roosters added great color to the day and had all the chicks "clucking" for attention. The lunch served by the Fairway Cafe on the porch overlooking the sun drenched mountains was the perfect end to a lovely morning.
It was a good day to be out of the hen house.

BMLGA PLAYDAY-SEPT 21

Our tournament today was "Match Play Red vs Blue, BB of Twosome". Each foursome was composed of two Red Players and two Blue Players, and each hole was determined by the lowest score of all four players. Sometimes the hole was tied. At the end of the play, the score was how many points Red got vs Blue, and at the end, all of these were totaled up and the Blue team had a score of 73 vs 71 for the Red. Blue winners all received $10 in Pro Shop credits, whether they won their individual matches and Red players did not receive anything, even if they won their match.
Next week will be our "Changing of Colors, Red Tees Even Holes and White Tees, Odd Holes". We look forward to seeing all of our members, and if you are a BMC Member with a Handicap of 37.1 and below, and you would like to give us a try, please call our President, Karen Levine @ 387-9129.

BMLGA PLAYDAY AND LUNCHEON- SEPT-14

Our Tournament today was ABCD Shamble, 1BB on front, 2BB on back with a final meeting and luncheon. A Shamble is fun, because everyone drives, the best drive is chosen, and then each player plays his own ball into the hole. One best ball net, was chosen as the team score on the first nine holes, and two best balls net were chosen as the team score for the back nine holes. Our meeting was led by our new president, Karen Levine, and everyone enjoyed the delicious luncheon that was served. We still have two more playdays on Sept 21st and Sept 28, plus open play or game TBD on Oct 5th and Oct 12th. If you are interested in playing with us, call Karen Levine @ 387-9129. You must be a Beech Mountain Club member who has a yearly beginning Handicap Index of 37.1 and below. You can play once before joining and will be allowed to pay $5 for prizes and participate in that day's tournament.
