This is my most favorite hike. Beautiful views and balds. There were 18 participants and it was led by Janelle Gamez with Randy Banwart driving and staying with our slower crowd. Check out the pictures. The only thing missing this year were the Rhodo's. The BMC bus is sitting way down in the parking lot. Lunch is always eaten on a big rock, and then we went up a little further to see the goats. We stopped at the Roan Mtn Visitors office, and met rhodyjanemeadows who has programs on Roan to have fun and learn to play a little music. Next weeks hike will be to the Boone Fork Trail. It is a 4.9 mile loop. The degree of difficulty is moderate. Call the Rec Dept to sign up for all hikes. 387-4208 EXT 229. Hiking shoes are good to wear. A stick is a very handy aid, and bring lunch and water.
