It was another beautiful day. This hike starts at Sim's Creek Pond on the Blue Ridge and winds up hills and dale, through forests, across fields, under the Blue Ridge, and ends up a few yards away from the parking lot. We had lunch at a perfect park nearby and stopped by The General Store at Grandfather Mountain on 105, which has the biggest one dip ice cream cones in the world!
Next week we are going to canoe the New River. It's a 5 mile canoe trip which will take 3 hours. Call the Rec Office for details@ 387-4208. The cost for this special event will be $33.
