Elaine Holland told me about the walk that she and Bill take on Beech Mtn. Kim Barley, Marge Pooser, Cocoa Barley, and myself decided to give it a try this morning. We ran into fog and rain, and finally the sun came out, but we still enjoyed it, and I think your visiting friends would be impressed.
Elaine's directions were to park at the Town Hall. Turn right (we took the walkway for the children's sledding area up the hill) There is a gate in the road, but you can walk around it. Pass the 2nd gate, go straight. It is paved, so you can fully enjoy the view. The pictures were taken when the sun finally came out at our end of the hike, but they would be close to the beginning, if there was no fog. Have lunch at Fred's and take a nap. Perfect way to entertain friends. Make sure they bring their cameras.
