There was a good turn out for the "Meet the Candidates Night" for the Beech Mtn Town Council. There are four candidates running for three positions. Vice-Mayor Gil Adams and Pete Chamberlin's tours will end in 2009.
Many topics were discussed, such as the "Street Scape Plan", developed several years ago, how to maintain and attract business, do we need a Detective on the Police Force, maintaining Town Hall, Room Tax, For Sale signs, taxes, Strategic Plan for the Town, improving the dump, yearly cost of the Buckeye Lake Rec Center. condition of our roads and maintaining ditches and rights of way. water and sewer debt, annexation, Environmental Issues, and removal of trees on lots for Pre-Fab homes.
