HAVE YOU SEEN A HURT DEER?

Debbie Canady just called me to advise that there is a hurt deer running around Beech right now. The deer has a broken bone and LeslIe from GENESIS WILDLIFE SANCTUARY is trying to find her so she can dart her and FIX her leg. If you see the deer she might be running in a pack of three please call genesis and advise 387-2979
Dee

Note: This is an approximately two-year old buck in velvet. The right horn is slightly shorter than the left, which is starting to branch into two. The longer is probably about 10" long. It appears his rear left hip has been broken and he tries not to walk or run on that leg. I last saw him this morning at about 8:00 a.m., travelling with 3 other young deer, crossing BM Pkwy. and going toward Destiny Inn. Your help in assisting this young buck would be appreciated if you happen to see him.

The hurt buck is currently in my yard eating corn that I set out. We called Genesis but Leslie is currently busy getting paperwork done so she can try to get money for Genesis to keep the doors open. I don't know if any of you saw the special on Mtn. Television this past week but it was a nice piece. Genesis is struggling and Leslie Hayhurst and her crew need all the help they can get with donations of money and supplies. At this time she is not even able to try to help with the buck. However, he is still getting along on his own and, even though he is still very thin, he seems to be able to get around okay on 3 legs.
