She was presented the "Great Idea Award" for her suggestion to make the Crossnore logo, a sterling silver pin that represents the school mission. O'Connell received the very first such pin at the trustee event.
The pin can be purchased at Crossnore Weavers & Gallery: A Working Museum. Susie and her husband Paul are longtime friends and supporters of Crossnore and are instrumental in many programs that directly benefit the children.
