Max's wife, Ruth, told me that they were invited to a reunion of the management faculty, who worked with Max, during his tenure at Penn State. The renunion was to close after a barbecue at the Dean's residence. At one point, the Dean read a statement regarding a contribution of $100,000 that was given to the College of Business Administration in Max D. Richards name by Don Hambrick and his wife Peg. Don was a former student who studied under Max and went on to a number of highly regarded studies about top management. Don gave Max a number of accolades, as did other faculty present. Max was SURPRISED and proud.
And we are certainly proud of Max, who is shown, in the picture, with his wife Ruth.
